What does BYOB mean to you?
Over the last few years, BYOB has become more and more fashionable. I'm not talking about Bring Your Own Booze...it's Bring Your Own Bag!
First of all, we have lots of celebrities telling us to BYOB.
Don't believe me? Check out these service announcements with celebrities:
Here's Edward Norton telling you to BYOB.
NBC celebs encourage you to BYOB as part of "The More You Know." Here's Tamara Tunie and Ming-Na telling you to BYOB, too!
But BYOB campaigns are also getting pretty personal.
What DOES your reusable bag say about you? That you care about the planet? That you're hip?
Reusable bags are also becoming fashionable. Look at 'em: so cute! Designers like Marc Jacobs have even created conveniently purse-sized reusable bags: Sheryl Crow, known for using her celebrity for good causes like helping the environment, helped Whole Foods design a bag. Sheryl said, "I am a big believer in doing what you can, even if it's something as small as reducing the amount of plastic we each use daily that ends up in landfills, whether it is plastic bags, water bottles or product packaging. I'm so happy to be working with Whole Foods Market on this project." Check out the Whole Foods blog about it here. Other stores like Trader Joe's, CVS, Bed Bath and Beyond, and others have designed their own bags, too. And, best of all, companies are getting creative coming up with ways to help their customers remember to actually use their bags: This blog on Reusable Bag Designs highlights some of the most effective (and hilarious!) mechanisms for remembering your bags. My favorite? The breast-enhancing bra-bag: Who said environmentalism couldn't be sexy, too? |
Edward Norton is a BABE!
I think Leonardo DiCaprio is also all about reusable bags...
